TAKE TIME TO TAKE YOUR TIME!
People who run their own business often end up working all hours of the day and the problem can be—how can you reclaim your life?
Running your own business does not necessarily make you free and it can take up far more time than working for someone else. Here are some simple guidelines to getting control back into your life.
Try to delegate where possible—trusting staff or your partner to do a job properly will be hard at first but they will improve with your guidance in time.
Stretch the day by doing work early, without interruptions. It can give you more time to be with the family in the evening.
Make a list of your days essential and urgent jobs and stick to it. There is another day tomorrow.
Time manage—put your answer phone on or get staff to say you are unavailable but will get back to them at a more appropriate time.
Work when you are fresh to maximise productivity, not when you are tired and may day-dream.
Take time to unwind—so you can return with renewed drive.
Structure your business so you can, in time, be dispensable.
